Episode 36a: “Whoa there, big fella!”
Dragon*Con is like a nerdy Mardis Gras: Four days and nights of non-stop partying and shaking hands with gods. This year, I was able to join Kevin, after hearing so much about his adventures last year.
In Part 1 of our Dragon*Con 2012 report, we discuss travel in the 21st Century, fan panel failures, and sexy vampire cosplay cock-blockers. This is also the part where “Paris” begins drinking, Kevin picks up a Cthulhu RPG book (and refuses to put it down), and I totally PWN a con staffer.
Stay tuned for Part 2!
This was what Dragon*Con is like… ALL. THE. TIME.

Sean, if you ever decide to go into TV production, you should create a show based on your journeys. The show could either be a reality show or fiction. It should be named “Cheapskate!” about how a man in the 20th century could ride a train for 3 days instead of taking a plane.
3 days??? For real! I get it, you were younger and had little money. STILL, Did discount travel sites not exist at that time? I feel that at least one did. 3 days. On a train.
Then I’m wondering why you went to the Maliyah (the President’s daughter owns a hotel?) instead of a brand name hotel? Hell, a brand name motel!

My folks were paying for the move so it wasn’t up to me. They saw the train as cheaper, so that’s how I got over here.
The worst part was the week after I arrived. It’s like they say about how you get off of a boat and some part of you is still on that boat… Well, for five days, it felt like I was still on that train. My equilibrium felt like I was still rocking and moving; even while standing still.
The hotel also wasn’t my call; it was Kevin’s. The MeliĆ” wasn’t that bad, really. Decent hotel not far from the con with reasonable rates.

I guess we’re going to have to reshoot this Cheapskate! pilot, then.
