Man this episode reminded me of how much I want to game as a player and not a GM again.

Also, I’m dating a geekette with a different set of geek focuses then me. We have overlap, but it’s fun where they don’t match up.

Oh, and I totally agree with that XKCD. I’ve pretty much lived my whole life by the ideal it espouses.

Wright at least has the humor, if nothing else. I know Ant Man isn’t shit to the mainstream in comparison to the A-list heroes, but he was an original Avenger, and he’s been around for so long. They’ve got some history to mine. I don’t can’t imagine how film audiences would react to it.

Yeah, that’s the whole thing… I wish I knew what the endgame was. Other man money laundering, are they just after some kind of access to my bank account? I deposit the funds to my account and somewhere they demand access, then clean me out? I dunno, but good riddance…

I got involved in one of those job scams. I was to tutor a child who was being sent to America from a Latin American company, and the parent sent the check to me. It was SOOOOOO a scam. I forget what the benefit of the scam was, but the whole point was to get me to deposit the check (which would bounce) and then the scam would be in action.

This was a much longer thread than was needed. Tim was right. I’ve followed news bits about The Last of Us for a while, and the only thing Ellen Pagey about the game was that the female lead looked basically like Ellen Page, then suddenly did not.

I can see appreciating certain parts of Shuffle for their inadvertent black humor, but how does one honestly and sincerely like it? I mean up until Kaede starts going off with the bug eyes there is just not a single thing there.

As Sean points out, I said “never claimed to” because, well, Last of Us never did. It had Ellie who looked like her, but the resemblance was never stated as intentional, nor did Naughty Dog claim to have Ellen as VA or Mocap model.

Sorry, point goes to Tim on this one. The Last of Us does not have Ellen Page, which I say is backed up by the wiki excerpt. I was just one of the many duped into thinking it does; mistaking it for Beyond: Two Souls. And find me where Naughty Dog said, "Yeah this is totally supposed to be like Ellen Page." Cuz I'm pretty sure that if the resemblance was intentional, it was kept on the DL. Then when they were busted, they could just claim, "Oops! Our bad!" and alter the design.

Tim is incorrect on this. BOTH games have Ellen Page. Tim has you guys all messed up now. THANKS TIM!! From the Trivia page for The Last of Us: "Ellie used to bear a striking resemblance to Canadian actress Ellen Page, and it was initially rumoured that she provided all of the mo-cap and voice acting to the character." To say that Ellen Page was not the the model and never claim it was, is false. Fact is, that this has caused quite the stir, and Naughty Dog is going to be making some changes to "Ellie" now, to make sure the final version of Ellie looks different from Ellen Page. A "cover their ass" move. If I could insert a gif of an Alpha Counter here, I would... sadly, I cannot.

Ok, so what happened was that I saw the Beyond: Two Souls trailer a while back, then saw The Last of Us trailer later. Silly me, I assumed since both had Ellen Page-lookin characters in it, they were the same thing. :P

Makes more sense, tho, cos I didn’t see any supernatural elements in The Last of Us.

On the bright side, Yay, Sean! You get your Ellen Page voice over!

What I think happened was that my host was already having ups and downs because of a WordPress brute force attack. When the site came back up from the first big down time, I started running some due software updates. This included one for the plugin, during which my host went down again. So the plugin probably just got corrupted from interrupting its update.

Like I said, I’ll try reinstalling it to see if it works again some time later.

Do I get the table flip back if I’m now mad there are not TWO games with Ellen Page in it?
